The first deliveries of the engines were made in January 2014, green in late March. All versions are currently available. The wagons were released in 2016. We are considering an NBH coach as our next 0n30 project.

Our first 0n30 wagon to match the NA engines is the NQR open wagon which is being sold in 3 packs. The price is A$185 per three pack.The wagons have brake rigging detail, painted brake hoses, Kadee couplers and metal wheels.

Although three colours appear in the photos below the difference between the two darker browns is minmal and is in line with differences on real wagons in service. The more orange like colour (sometimes called "wagon red") represents a colour that was introduced in the 1950s and has continued into presevation on some wagons. It is quite accurate to run multiple colours together with these wagons.

The packs are:

Pack one. Wagon numbers 65, 84, 91. All wagon red. Pack one is currently sold out. 

Pack two. Wagon numbers 85, 64, 12. Two wagon red, one faded brown.

Pack three. Wagon numbers 10, 26, 123. All lighter brown.

Pack four. Wagon numbers 13, 32, 203. All darkerbrown.

Pack five. Wagon number 56, 105, 213. Both darker and not not so dark brown.

Pack six, seven, eight are painted with no lettering/numbers in any of the colours available.

Pack nine. Mixed pack with wagon numbers from other packs 10, 65, 203. One each of all paint versions.

Pack 10. Mixed pack. Wagon numbers 26, 84, 213. One of each paint version.

The model is shipped with the coupling release levers (which were added to the real wagons after some years in service rather than being fitted with the original couplers) and brake wheel supplied but not fitted as we worry these parts may come off easily in shipping and be lost if already fitted.

We have aimed to produce a model with what we regard as a realistic appearance so we have deliberately rough paint work and printing of numbers etc rather than shiny perfection.

Although we have produced HO scale and 0 scale models for many years the NA was our first model in 0n30 (also known in the UK as 0-16.5 and in Europe as 0e). This model is 1/48 scale and is fully compatible with most American 0n30 models. The minimum curve radius for operation is 18 inch. Kadee couplers are be fitted. This model is to 1/48 scale and was only be produced for 16.5mm gauge track (ie
HO gauge). The coupler height is as per most HO and 0n30 models.

Five versions of the NA engine were produced:

Apple green (product code NAGR).

Canadian red (product code NACR).

Black with modern smoke stack like 8A (product code: NABM).

Black with original smoke stack (NABE).

Black with red handrails and buffer beams etc (product code: NARB).

The price is Australian $449 with shipping anywhere. All versions are the same price. The model is DCC ready (8 pin), has a flywheel, many die-cast parts and metal handrails as well as etched brass numbers for all NA locomotives that are still in existence. The real VR NA class was a Baldwin design that was exported from the USA to Australia. Thus some other engines elsewhere in the world had similarities in appearance to this engine.

The model includes real coal for the bunker in scale size pieces and brass etched number and build plates. The background of these are correctly coloured in blue for red engines, red for green engines and black for black engines.
